Proverbs 10:12,"Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins." Which do you choose? Real love is a choice. Love is not a feeling. We usually don't feel like overlooking sins. Real love covers sins and chooses to love anyways. If you are stirring up strife, then you are not loving. Choose to love.
I John 3:1,"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God..." Bestowed means applied, given gratuitously, deposited for safe-keeping. God applies His love to us, so that we can be His children. I love people, but I don't want them all to be my children. God not only loves us, but He call us His children. What an incredible gift!
Romans 5:8,"But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." God committed His love towards us. He chose to love us. God did not love us because we were worthy. He loved us while we were sinners. My pastor growing up used to say,"God loved you and saved you knowing what kind of Christian you would be!" God's love is amazing!
John 3:16,"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." For God (the greatest Being) so (the greatest degree) loved (the greatest affection ) the world (the great object of love) that he gave (the greatest act) his only (the greatest treasure) begotten (the greatest relationship) Son (the greatest gift) that whosoever (the greatest company) believeth (the greatest truth) in him (the greatest object of faith) should not perish (the greatest deliverance) but have (the greatest assurance) everlasting (the greatest promise) life (the greatest blessing). This is NOT original to me, but I love this breakdown of possibly the greatest verse in the Bible. And what is this verse about? God's love for you. God so loves you!
Jeremiah 31:3,"TheLord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." Everlasting love. It is a love that never changes. It never goes away. It is an endless love. There is nothing you can do to exhaust it. God loves you with an everlasting love.
Romans 8:38-39,"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Nothing. No thing. Not one thing can separate us from the love of God once we have accepted the gift through Christ Jesus! What a comfort! God chooses to love us forever because of His Son Jesus. Even when our family does not love us, God loves us. Even when our friends do not love us, God loves us. Even when we don't love ourselves, God loves us. Praise God for His love!
